1. About the Publication Wing
The Publications Division of the Center for Development Economics Studies (CDES) is dedicated to nurturing and disseminating high-quality academic and research work encompassing multidisciplinary dialogue designed to translate complex frameworks into actionable solutions, ensuring every work we produce contributes to a more inclusive and sustainable future.
Our goal is to create a meaningful platform where scholars, researchers, academicians, and practitioners can share original ideas that contribute to knowledge, policy, and societal development.

2.Scope of Publications
We welcome a wide range of scholarly works, including:

3.Submission Guidelines
To ensure a smooth review process, authors are requested to submit:
- Full manuscript (MS Word format)
- Abstract (200–300 words)
- Author(s) profile with institutional affiliation
- Declaration of originality
- Table of contents
- List of figures/tables (if applicable)

4.Manuscript Preparation
Formatting Requirements
- Font: Times New Roman, Size 12
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides
- Alignment: Justified

Referencing Style
APA (7th Edition) is preferred. However, discipline-specific styles may be considered where appropriate.
5.Review and Editorial Process
Every submission is treated with care and academic rigor:

- Final decision by the editorial board

6.Publication Ethics
CDES is committed to ethical publishing practices. Authors are expected to ensure:

8.ISBN and Identification
- All eligible books will be assigned an ISBN in accordance with national guidelines
- For book series or continuing publications, ISSN may be used where applicable
- Digital versions may also be hosted on the CDES website to improve accessibility and reach
9.Publication Charges
We strive to keep publication accessible:
- Publication is free or fee-based, depending on the nature of the work and services involved
- Any applicable charges will be clearly communicated in advance—no hidden costs
10.Proofreading and Final Submission
Authors play an important role in ensuring the final quality of the publication:
- Carefully proofread the manuscript before final submission
- Incorporate all editorial suggestions and corrections
- Major changes are not permitted after final approval
11.Publication Timeline
We aim for a timely and efficient publication process:
- Initial Review: 2–3 weeks
- Peer Review: 3–6 weeks
- Final Publication: 4–8 weeks after acceptance

To maximise the reach and impact of your work, published books will be:
- Hosted on the official CDES website
- Promoted through academic and professional networks
- Indexed or listed in relevant platforms where applicable

While the Publications Division may make minor editorial revisions to enhance clarity and presentation, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of their work, and CDES shall not be liable for any errors, omissions, or consequences arising from published content. The assignment of ISBN/ISSN and DOI (where applicable) is subject to the requirements of the respective authorities, and although CDES strives to maximise visibility, inclusion in external indexing or citation databases cannot be guaranteed; publication timelines are indicative and may vary depending on the review and revision process. By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge and agree that the decisions of the Editorial Board are final and binding, and they further agree to indemnify and hold harmless CDES, its editorial members, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or legal disputes arising from authorship, content, copyright infringement, or ethical violations.
Submission of a manuscript constitutes full acceptance of all CDES publication guidelines, policies, and terms.
Any dispute or issue arising after the publication of your book shall fall under the exclusive legal jurisdiction of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. As the book is published digitally at no cost to the reader, no royalty payments shall accrue.
