Dr (Mrs) S. Chinnammai is a Professor and Head of Department of Economics and Chairperson of the School of Economics at the University of Madras, one of India’s oldest and most prestigious universities. She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Development Economics and Management Research Studies (JDMS). Her expertise spans development economics, social issues, gender economics, and the regional economy of Tamil Nadu. As Chairperson of the School of Economics at University of Madras, she plays a key role in guiding economics education and research in Tamil Nadu.
