Abstract : The nature of reality has been a central question in philosophy, explored through diverse
historical perspectives. This research investigates various philosophical viewpoints on reality,
including metaphysical realism, idealism, phenomenology, and existentialism. It examines the
ontological debates between materialists and dualists, the epistemological questions of perception
and truth, and the impact of scientific advancements on our understanding of existence. By
analysing the contributions of key philosophers such as Plato, Kant, Descartes, and contemporary
thinkers, this study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of how different traditions
conceptualise reality. Furthermore, it explores how these perspectives influence human cognition,
ethics, and scientific inquiry. The study concludes by assessing the implications of these
philosophical theories on modern existential and technological challenges, highlighting the
ongoing relevance of intellectual discourse in shaping our understanding of the world.
